Standing Up Speaking Now

Say hola to Jeremy and his blog, standingupspeakingnow.wordpress.com (Sorry, links seem to be out of commission. Just copy the URL into your address bar and hit enter.)

It’s time for me to speak up. My name is Jeremy, I’m 17, and I live in one of the most conservative regions in the world. I’m a good student who goes for those ridiculous AP schedules, and I’m an athlete. Yes, I play sports, and yeah… I’m into dudes. At any given time of the year, you will find me either: running track or playing football.
That being said, fighting for what I believe in, has become super important. I know certain circumstances arise, and you find yourself barricaded in internal struggles, but sometimes, just speaking up can make all the difference.
No one would expect me to be gay, and breaking that social stigma and stereotype even further is my goal. We CAN make a difference, ’cause life as a gay athlete is NOT easy. So, that’s what resonates in this blog: my journey as a dude, the issues I feel deserve attention, and that kinda anonymous diary.

More About Me:
Music-wise I get into anything but metal. However, I do love Taylor Swift. She’s kinda like…. The most genuine artist I’ve ever heard, and I’ve had to enchanting privelage of seeing her in concert. I can sing and sign (I’m really into sign language) every word to every song. I’m a country dude, who likes country music, so give me Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, or Lady Antebellum and I’ll be ‘ight. Can’t leave out my admiration of Drake, T-Pain, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne, and Nicki Minaj either.

All-in-all, I’m a southern gentlemen with a twist.
